Petra Accommodation TERMS & CONDITIONS

Petra Chalets are 'Couples Accommodation'
> Each chalet sleeps 2 people in either a Queen or King Bed. [Sorry, there are no 'twin beds'].
> Maximum of 3 people including infants per chalet. Please see the Third Guest/Child/Infant Policy below.

*Petra Accommodation Dog Policy

  • Petra is a 30 acre property with lovely areas for you to walk with your dog, however, please note that there is no fencing on the property, and there are other dogs (like an off-leash park) plus wildlife (kangaroos, ducks, birds, etc which cannot be chased).
  • Petra is dog friendly at a cost of $25 per dog per night for calm, well-socialised dogs (subject to approval by Petra Management).
  • Dogs must be age 1yo+; sterilised/desexed/spayed; fully vaccinated; fully house-trained; well socialised; familiar with off-leash parks; have good recall, non-barkers, not nervous/fear aggressive; sleep in own bed (need to bring dog bedding; not allowed on couches or beds)
  • Petra is a 30-acre property with lovely areas for you to walk with your dog. Please note that there is no fencing on the property, and there may be other dogs staying at Petra during your stay, who could be on/off leash. Petra is like an 'off-leash' park environment. All of this Dog Information is required to be considered for approval.
  • Dogs cannot be left unattended in the chalet; guests are required to take their dogs with them when they go out.
  • Bring your own dog bedding, dog towels, dog toilet/waste bags (dispose of in outside green bin).
  • Dogs are not allowed on sofas or beds. Additional cleaning charges will be passed on, if evidence of dogs on lounge/beds/heavy shedding/damage to furniture, flooring, rugs, bed linen.
  • Attentive supervision of dog/s is required at all times. Dogs are entirely the responsibility of their owners.
  • Highly 'vocal' dogs are not possible (sorry), so all guests can enjoy a peaceful stay at Petra. Petra chalets are glass fronted (for guests to enjoy property views), so dogs can see/hear other dogs/people outside.
  • Maximum one dog per chalet usually.
  • Maximum of five dogs in total, across all five chalets at Petra.
  • If you have two dogs, please provide details on the Accommodation Enquiry Form. If we are not able to accommodate two dogs, it is likely because of other (potential) bookings.
  • Please keep a close eye on your dog’s toilet habits inside the chalet. We understand s/he may never go to the toilet inside at home, but s/he will obviously be able to smell that other dogs have been there. We do thoroughly clean our chalets of course, but a dog’s nose is much more acute than ours; particularly very young and very old dogs, who are sometimes ‘triggered’ to ‘mark territory’ (or get confused / incontinence in older dogs). Please bring wee mats/crate and roll up the chalet rugs/mats if there’s any risk.
  • Before letting off-leash, please note your dogs' behaviour (especially younger dogs) regarding kangaroos/ducks, especially breeds/dogs that may be more likely to chase/round up (eg. cattle dog/kelpie/border collie/greyhound/whippet). You should only let dogs off-leash if you have ‘good recall’ on them, and they won't chase wildlife (the whole property is unfenced). Having said this, trained/well-behaved dogs are usually better with other dogs if they are off-leash (so the dogs can decide their own hierarchy).
  • Please be mindful of any bushy/reedy areas in warmer months (snakes are possible in the country). We have never had any dogs/humans bitten at Petra (in 20+ years of operation), and much of the property is landscaped for enjoyment/visibility.
  • Tethering/tying up and/or outside crating/caging dogs is not permitted.
  • Unfortunately, we are not able to have unsterilised dogs at Petra for a variety of reasons, our apologies.
  • All dogs need to be approved by Petra Management.
  • Approval depends on dog’s details (honestly) provided, compliance with our Dog Policy, other dogs booked/likely to be booked at Petra.
  • Petra Management try to 'vet' dog bookings carefully to ensure everyone's enjoyment. Petra Management cannot accept liability for dog behaviour (as we rely on the honesty of guests' advice), so please ensure you are comfortable with the environment at Petra and assume liability at your own risk. Petra reserves the right to refuse any dog bookings at our discretion.

Check in & Check Out
> Check-in : Anytime from 2pm onwards (self check-in > please refer to your Booking Confirmation Email)
> Check-out : By 10am sharp (penalties apply for late check-out)
Early Check-in/Late Check-out : by prior arrangement only. We may be able to offer LATE CHECK-OUT or EARLY CHECK-IN at the price of $30 per hour for Standard Rate (up to 2 hours), however we may be unable to confirm this ‘ahead of time’, as it is subject to other bookings/cleans required, and our contract cleaner’s schedule at the time.

Linen & Towels
> The bed and bathroom are made up with fresh (professionally laundered) linen/towels for your stay.
> Please note: we are not a ‘hotel’, so there is no daily cleaning / turn-down service.
> For stays of 7+ nights, extra linen & towels will be provided in your chalet.
Please leave all towels, tea towels & cloths HUNG UP TO DRY (do not leave on the floor or folded up). Mouldy towels will incur extra charges.

Heating/Cooling
> Each chalet has a reverse-cycle air-conditioning unit for heating and cooling.
> You can set the temperature on the air-conditioner and leave on “auto” (“A” symbol) so it can thermostat during the night. Instructions are in your chalet.
To help us manage costs and keep rates attractive: please use air-conditioner sensibly; don't leave it on when you're out. It only takes minutes to work. Extra Charges will apply if Air-Con Unit if left ON when you leave.
> We try to change the bed duvet according to the seasons.
> One extra lightweight blanket is also provided.
> Please bring an extra blanket in winter if you are concerned.

Water Wise Usage
Petra Estate is a Rural Property that uses/has Rainwater Tanks, Septic Tanks, Leach Drains, Limited Hot Water Storage. ‘Mains Water’ is not available in our locality.
> Enjoy showering in fresh rainwater but please use water wisely to ensure all guests can enjoy a hot shower.
> Please don't flush feminine products/paper towel as this causes significant plumbing problems
including system back up/flooding/plumber expenses.
> Ensure toilet is not left running after flush (lightly press toilet button again when necessary)
> Ensure all taps are turned off, including outdoor hose taps if you use them.
> Petra Rainwater is safe to drink as our rainwater tanks are maintained with filters and water clarifiers.

Cleaning, Breakages or Damage
> The cost of basic cleaning is included* however please note that additional cleaning charges may be incurred if cleaning in excess of the normal level of cleaning is required.
> Please report any breakages or damage that occur during your stay > to report: please email contact@petraoliveoil.com.au (with photos).
> Breakage/damage may be charged for, and will certainly be charged for if not reported.
> Any cost incurred to Petra as a result of significant damage causing costly/time-consuming repairs/replacements, and additional loss of subsequent bookings (and revenue), will incur further costs that we would be obliged to pass on.
> Please help us keep our accommodation rates and charges to a minimum, and ensure the next guests can enjoy the same experience at Petra as you, by leaving your chalet as clean as possible.

*End of Stay CLEANING SURCHARGE > Currently $60 King Chalet; $50 Queen Chalet.
This 'per-stay charge' (not per night) currently applies to all bookings – it may (rarely) be more in peak periods. We have had to implement this surcharge since Covid / Subsequent & Ongoing Labour Shortage in our region which means Petra Cleaning Costs have increased significantly in recent times. We are absorbing most of this cost, but we need to pass some of the cost. We hope you understand. Petra reserves the right to pass on additional cleaning charges later at any time (due to current conditions, or when guest leaves chalets in an 'above normal' state of 'unclean'). Future charges may vary, and cannot be confirmed ahead of time. Note: we have hardly ever charged more than this current cleaning surcharge, as it always our intention to offer the best value to our lovely guests. Please leave your chalet as clean as you can, to help us keep costs down and keep rates & charges attractive. Please help support our efforts by SHOPPING ONLINE for our amazing PETRA PRODUCTS! 

WIFI
> There is no wifi available (sorry), however personal hotspot/mobile broadband works well at Petra.

TOTAL FIRE BAN AT PETRA - No Fires/No Smoking permitted
> Never throw cigarette butts or light fires anywhere (even in winter) > bushfire hazard!
> Bushfires can (rarely) occur and disrupt your travel plans. Check the latest bushfire warnings and updates for WA here: dfes.wa.gov.au and www.emergency.wa.gov.au

Charging Electric Cars / Superchargers
Not possible or permissible at Petra.

Third Guest/Child/Infant Policy
> As per Petra Estate chalet descriptions and accommodation licensing, our chalets are designed for two people (couples accommodation), with either a Queen or King bed in each chalet.
> Guests are not permitted to sleep on the couch/floor and we are required to provide beds for all booked guests. Please be honest about the number of guests you wish to book. [Extra charges &/or right of refusal is reserved by Petra Management at any time for dishonest guest bookings]
> Maximum of 3 guests including infants per chalet including infants (sorry, we cannot accept 4 guests in a chalet).
> For a third guest aged 5years+ (and able to swim), a foldabed ($65/night) is required to be booked.
> The foldabed will be made up with fresh linen and towels, although please note that it is a shared space as our chalets are all 'studio/open plan' in style.
> Note: foldabeds are offered as a possible option by Petra, as our chalets were never deigned for 3 people. Foldabeds have thinner mattresses and are not designed for weight over 85kg.
> There are only two foldabeds available in total at Petra.
> You can only book a foldabed for your entire booking dates (no partial dates, sorry).
> You can only book a foldabed with 14 days' advanced notice to Petra.
> Attentive supervision of children is required at all times.
> Unfortunately we are not able to accept toddlers/children 9 months – 5 years (with 3 unfenced dams on the property).
> Infants aged <9mths (not mobile) at the time of your arrival date are permissible if you can bring your own portacot/suitable equivalent. All nappies to be individually bagged and disposed of properly. There is an outside green bin available near your Unit.
> Please note on your Booking Request Form in the Customer Note field: the age the third guest will be at the time of your proposed arrival date (foldabed required to be booked), or that you are bringing a portacot/equivalent for an infant aged <9 months at the time of arrival.

Entertaining Non-Petra Guests - Visitors Policy
> Petra Chalet Rates are for 2 guests ONLY per chalet. Rates are calculated based on (limited) rainwater tank supply (there is no water mains connection in our region); electricity costs; normal cleaning required, etc. Additional visitors means additional cost to us, including the risk of rainwater tanks running out of water for future guests; noise and safety issues.
>Petra reserves the right to charge/pass on additional costs.
> Permission for any non-Petra guest/visitor entertaining must be requested and approved by Petra Management prior to arrival.
> Approval is entirely at management discretion and may incur additional costs depending on what you would like to arrange. If you wish to entertain ‘non-staying visitors’ at your chalet, please contact us in advance to discuss. In particular, please advise if your intended visitors include any children (given the 3 unfenced dams on our property).
> Please note that ‘non-staying visitors’ are not permitted to stay on site overnight under any circumstances. Petra reserves the right to pass on any additional costs.
> Petra Accommodation Guests generally come to Petra for a quiet, relaxing holiday break, so, even if visitor entertaining is approved by Petra Management, we ask that you please be considerate and respectful, in terms of noise, children supervision, parking, dog management, cleaning, damage, etc.
> Please be mindful of additional water and electricity usage.

Petra Accommodation BOOKING CONFIRMATION EMAIL

Immediately after we process your booking payment (see below), you will receive a BOOKING CONFIRMATION EMAIL including directions to the property and your unit, as well as a DOOR ENTRY KEY CODE which you will need to enter your chalet (Check-in: 2pm onwards / Check-out: 10am sharp). Please SAVE/PRINT this, as you will need the information upon arrival. If you do not receive this BOOKING CONFIRMATION EMAIL, please check your spam/junk folder, or phone us.

Petra Accommodation RATES / TARIFF PAYMENT

The current Petra Website Chalet Rates (click to see) will apply as at the date of Booking Request for Accommodation Tariff payments.

We suggest always checking our Chalet Rates Table here on the day of submitting your Booking Request Form.

Petra reserves the right to charge the applicable current rates/charges/fees as at the date of Requesting a Booking and/or any subsequent requests to change the original booking in any way. Any rates/charges/fees previously quoted by Petra by email or phone may not apply (depending on the 'time gap' between enquiring / booking / subsequent booking adjustments of any kind). This includes, but is not limited to, date changes, chalet changes, credit card detail changes).

Petra Accommodation Tariff Payment / Booking Fees

  • The Booking System only accepts Visa & Mastercard.
  • Upon processing your Booking Request, the Accommodation Tariff* payable will be deducted from your supplied credit card.
  • The Accommodation Tariff* payable at the time of booking will be as per the Chalet Rate Table on our website
    plus $25 per night per (approved) dog/s (approval subject to Dog Policy)
    plus current 'end of stay' cleaning surcharge
    plus $65 per night per third guest (foldabed) (if relevant) (approval subject to Third Guest/Child/Infant Policy)
  • *Using the Petra Online Booking Request Form is free of charge. It requires a valid Visa/Mastercard credit card with sufficient funds available. Please take care to enter your card details correctly.
  • *An additional admin fee of $10-20 applies IF your payment is declined and/or we need to reprocess/complete payment manually by phone. To avoid this admin fee, please Request a Booking online again, taking care to enter your credit card details correctly, and ensure funds are available. NOTE: please don't email your credit card details as this is unsafe (due to email hacking).
  • *Phone Bookings are not always possible (sorry). If we are available to take phone bookings, there is a phone booking admin charge of $10-20 (depending on how many returned phone calls it takes to complete your booking).
  • Your booking is secured when we process your booking and successful credit card payment.
  • Petra uses leading payment gateway CBA's eWAY, who manage the complex routing of sensitive customer information through the electronic credit card processing networks to ensure the privacy of your sensitive cardholder data. [Eway charge us for all transactions whether successful or unsuccessful].

Petra Accommodation CANCELLATION OR TRANSFER POLICY

  • Please see applicable T&Cs below
  • We highly recommend getting travel insurance
  • Please email us with your request including appropriate 'subject heading' and details of why you are seeking to cancel or transfer your booking
  • Please provide as much notice to us as possible to enable us to re-book where possible; re-organise linen/cleaning schedules etc.
  • Advanced notice requests will be more generously considered. Petra reserves the right to alter the T&Cs at any time. We will always do our best to help and we will try to consider extenuating circumstances (eg. health/medical certificates/evidentiary proof). We will always endeavour to be as fair and accommodating as possible.

Standard Rate

The current advertised relevant rates & charges, and the same number of days as the original booking dates, will apply to new transfer dates
Date Transfer / Date Reductions / any other adjustments to current bookings incur an admin fee of $45 per alteration
> GUEST TRANSFER
Only possible with prior communication/discussion – subject to approval by Petra Management
Guest Transfer incurs an admin fee of $45
There is NO admin fee to ADD additional dates to your current booking dates

Long Weekend / Holiday Rate

Petra Estate management reserves the right to alter the T&Cs at any time, and the current Petra Website advertised T&Cs will apply at the time of your arrival date.

Petra Owners/Management reserve the right to refuse or revoke any accommodation booking/booking request which in their opinion (and at their sole discretion) is unsuitable for the Property concerned (including, but not limited to, honesty about the number of guests or dogs staying). Please be honest about the number of guests (note: the number of 'guests' includes infants), as access to your accommodation will be revoked if there are unapproved guests (due to our accommodation licensing, rainwater tank supply, safety/insurance issues with 3 unfenced dams on the property).

Any requests to waive the above T&Cs, can only be considered if evidentiary written proof of 'reason for cancellation' is provided (eg. Medical Certificate). We always endeavour to be as fair and accommodating as possible.
